Nelson FSP firestop putty

May 1, 2010 | By Anthony Capkun

Nelson FSP firestop putty creates a smoke- and gas-tight fire seal to fill voids around pipes, electrical conduit, datacom, etc., and between walls and floors. Constructed of a blend of organic and inorganic intumescent materials, FSP putty expands with extreme heat to prevent the spread of fire and smoke. In addition, it is acoustically tested to reduce the transmission of noise and vibration. It is pressed in place by hand, requiring no special equipment. It is also premixed and ready to use out of the box (no additional blending, adhesives or cable derating). It stays pliable at all times and, because it doesn’t set, FSP can be removed and reapplied repeatedly. Nelson Firestop FSP is available in bars or as putty pads (in photo). It is tested to UL 1479, and ASTM E84 and E814.
