February 14, 2012 – The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published NEMA 250-2011 Enclosures for Electrical Equipment (1000 Volts Maximum), specifying the classification and description of enclosures for electrical equipment. The standard provides potential users with descriptions of types of enclosures and their features, as well as tests used to examine conformance to the respective description. NEMA 250 was last revised in 2008. The new version includes additional tables detailing the testing required for various safety or environmental conditions, along with the related IP code number from ANSI/IEC 60529.
