NEMA helps you evaluate fire-damaged electrical equipment

November 18, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

November 18, 2013 – The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) recently published “Evaluating Fire- and Heat-Damaged Electrical Equipment”: a guide that provides information on how to evaluate electrical equipment that has been exposed to heat and fire residue through fire, firefighting activities or proximity to fire.

Before this publication, NEMA says little guidance was available for installers and inspectors on how to evaluate electrical equipment that has been exposed to heat and fire residue. It may be downloaded at no cost from the NEMA website.
