NETCO welcomes Chris Swick and Denise Miller

May 25, 2021 – The National Electrical Trade Council welcomed a new national coordinator, and a communications & marketing coordinator.

Chris Swick is the new national coordinator, a position that was created to manage NETCO’s Online Apprentices Support Initiate for Success (OASIS).

“OASIS’s main objective is to set up a national learning management system for all of our stakeholder partners to access,” explained Melissa Young, executive director. “This will bring consistency to electrical training for apprentices and journeypersons across Canada.”

Funded in part by the federal government, the 5-year program launched at NETCO’s conference on May 5.

Chris obtained his Red Seal as an Electrician – Construction & Maintenance, in 2008, and has been a member of Local 105 (Hamilton, Ont.) for nine years. For the past decade, Chris has been the training director at Local 105.

Following a 13-year career in the events industry, Denise Miller has joined NETCO as communications & marketing coordinator. She will handle all communication needs, including multimedia, press releases/statements, and also look after NETCO events. Denise graduated from the Atlantic Broadcasting school.
