Delmar Publishing Partnership with the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC) Delmar announced the publication of two new titles: AC Theory, 3rd Edition and Building a Foundation in Mathematics, 2nd Edition. The books by Delmar – part of Cengage Learning, a provider of learning solutions for career development and education – are to be used by students in electrical apprenticeship programs around North America, says the release.

AC Theory, 3rd Edition “provides electrician apprentices with a thorough introduction to electrical characteristics and circuit construction. Building on the basics established in the study of direct current theory,” explains the release. The book contains an overview of the primary components of AC circuits, the application of AC principles in power generation/generators, troubleshooting and evaluating circuit conditions, amongst other topics. Finally, it has images, “technical tips”, and side bars throughout as previous versions had.

Building a Foundation in Mathematics, 2nd Edition “uses on-the-job scenarios and a straightforward approach to bring to life fundamental mathematical concepts for electrical workers,” explains the release. It covers whole numbers, fractions, binary numbers, and Boolean algebra.
