April 30, 2019 – Kelly Hanson has joined Cascadia Sales, an independent manufacturers’ representative for the electrical and lighting industries in British Columbia, as agency principal.
April 17, 2019 – Ulrich Spiesshofer is stepping down as CEO of international technology firm ABB, through a mutual agreement with the company’s board of directors. The board’s chair, Peter Voser, will serve as interim CEO, effective immediately, until a new official CEO is found.
April 15, 2019 – Effective May 13, 2019, John Gorman will become president and CEO of the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA). He currently holds the same leadership role with the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA).
April 12, 2019 – Effective today, Roxanne Lafond will lead Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) in Quebec, supporting the industry association’s activities and programs in the region.
April 4, 2019 – Wire and cable supplier Southwire Canada recently hired Janny Hogen Esch as customer experience (CX) manager.
April 3, 2019 - Electrical Business Magazine has hired a new account manager, Jennifer DiIorio.
April 2, 2019 – Electrical, lighting and networking product manufacturer Leviton has hired Jason Prevost as vice-president (VP) of distribution. He succeeds Gabriel Massabni, who is set to retire next year.
April 2, 2019 – The board of directors for Ontario’s Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) has elected Peter Gregg—president and CEO of the province’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO)—as its chair. He succeeds Brian Bentz, who is retiring from the board after serving on it nine years, including three as chair.
March 29, 2019 – Rexel Canada Electrical, the distributor that operates Nedco and Westburne, has hired Randy Hayward as a motor control and automation specialist to represent its engineered power solutions in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. He began the position on Mar. 18.
March 28, 2019 – Signify, formerly Philips Lighting, has hired Greg Kemp as vice-president (VP) of professional sales for Canada.
March 26, 2019 – Robyn Eddy, president of Eddy Group, a Maritimes wholesale distributor of electrical, plumbing and HVAC products, has announced plans to retire at the end of this year. She has been with the company for more than 30 years.
March 22, 2019 – Electrical cable supplier Nexans Canada, based in Markham, Ont., has promoted Virya Hour (pictured) to vice-president (VP) of sales for its energy group.
March 21, 2019 – Fulham, which manufactures lighting components for commercial and specialty applications, has appointed Antony Corrie (pictured) president and CEO. He succeeds Bob Howard-Anderson, who will continue to serve the company as an advisor to its board of directors.
