May 18, 2016 – The Hydro-Quebec Environment Foundation (Fondation Hydro-Québec pour l’environnement) has just published its Annual Report 2015, highlighting its 15th anniversary and saluting new projects.

In 2015, the group says it funded 16 new projects in nine of Quebec’s administrative regions, allocating a total of $964,500. “Focused on ecologically rich areas, these initiatives will benefit 62 species considered vulnerable,” it states.

Since its inception in 2001, the foundation reports it has granted over $13 million to protect the environment and raise awareness about Quebec’s natural habitats, helping 130 organizations, municipalities, regional county municipalities and band councils through 238 projects.

The foundation is a non-profit organization funded by Hydro-Quebec.
