May 27, 2015 – Leviton has acquired Intense Lighting, a solutions-based manufacturer of LED luminaires, based in Anaheim, Calif.

The acquisition enhances Leviton’s current offerings with more specification-grade lighting solutions for the commercial, hospitality, supermarket, retail and residential markets, noted the company.

Intense Lighting will operate as a standalone business unit and maintain operations in Anaheim, Leviton said. The unit will be managed by Kenny Eidsvold, current president of Intense Lighting, who will report directly to Daryoush Larizadeh, COO of Leviton.

“Leviton has evolved into a global provider of electrical wiring devices, data connectivity solutions, automation and energy management systems for a variety of end-use markets, and this acquisition represents the next logical step in our corporate progression,” Larizadeh said.

Both companies will maintain their separate agent networks and distribution channels.
