May 7, 2018 | By Anthony Capkun

May 7, 2018 – The Province of Ontario reports it is supporting the development and manufacture of “next-generation power delivery” at Northern Transformer Corp., with a project that will help create 60 jobs and retain 82 jobs in Maple.

Northern’s primary focus is the design and manufacture of liquid-filled power, grounding and specialty transformers ranging from 500kVA to 115MVA, with a maximum primary voltage of 160kV.

With support from Ontario’s Jobs and Prosperity Fund, Northern will scale-up its current product offering by purchasing new equipment, expanding its facility, and investing in the development of new prototypes. The enhancements will enable the company to expand into new markets, such as the U.S. and Europe, says the province.

Northern Transformer is looking to the future, and this major investment in people and capability marks an exciting new chapter for our company,” said Alexei Miecznikowski, CEO, Northern Transformer. “We look forward to enhancing our capabilities to serve our expanding client base and delivering new and innovative products.”
