In memoriam – Tom Brockway of Brockway Enterprises

I met Tom for the first time in Kelowna back in 2010, at what used to be known as the Supply & Distribution Conference. As we chatted at the Hubbell Hospitality Suite, I discovered Tom to be warm and friendly... instantly likeable.

December 10, 2019 – EBMag is saddened to learn of the passing of Tom (Thomas Jonathan) Brockway of the Nova Scotian manufacturers’ representative company, Brockway Enterprises. He was 67.

According to his obituary (published by the J.A. Snow Funeral Home), he passed away peacefully on November 30, surrounded by his partner, siblings and children.

Tom’s career in the electrical industry spanned 48 years. According to the obituary, Tom started in contracting, then moved to distribution and manufacturing until, eventually, he started his own business in manufacturer representation in 1988. Launched in Nova Scotia, the business now also New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland & Labrador.

There was a celebration of Tom’s life on December 5 at J.A. Snow Funeral Home in Halifax. “In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Feed Nova Scotia or Special Olympics Nova Scotia… two causes near and dear to Tom’s heart.”
