Ontario’s IESO chose Hydrogenics for grid stabilization project

Hydrogenics Corporation – a developer and manufacturer of hydrogen generation and fuel cell products – has been selected by Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) to be apart of the Alternative Technologies for Regulation Demonstration project.

Over a two-month period, regulation services within Ontario’s
electricity market will be provided through the load from a Hydrogenics
HySTATTM electrolyzer (that will be responding to power signals from
the IESO). In specific the IESO and Hydrogenics will assess how well
the hydrogen equipment follows regulation signals. With this study,
Hydrogenics will aim to provide better balancing of electrical supply
and demand.
