June 11, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

June 10, 2013 – The Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) reports more than 1000 solar industry professionals, practitioners and stakeholders gathered in Niagara Falls for the 3rd annual Solar Ontario conference and Trade Show at the end of May, with “strong participation from local and global industry leaders, key political decision-makers, and the solar community” making this event “the most influential and valuable Solar Ontario to date”.

Among the conference highlights, Ontario’s minister of energy Bob Chiarelli, addressed a sold-out room, announcing a further 900MW of micro- and small-scale solar to be procured in the province in the next four years.

“The progress and momentum built by CanSIA and Ontario’s solar energy industry in recent years was evident in every element of the event, and we wish to thank the industry for all of the hard work and support that has brought us to the strong position we enjoy today,” said John Gorman, CanSIA president.
