January 23, 2019 – Following a transition in 2018 to become a member-owned group, AD—a North American wholesale buying group for electrical and other contractors—has elected a new board of directors for 2019.

The board now includes new member Chrissy Nardini (pictured), president of American Metals Supply, who succeeds Brian Peirce, CEO of Peirce-Phelps, following his 14 years of service.

“I am truly honoured to be the first board member elected by my fellow AD member owners,” says Nardini. “I look forward to giving back to the organization and to ensuring it continues to help strong independents stay ahead of the competition.”

Meanwhile, existing members Donald Slominiski Jr., president and CEO of McNaughton McKay Electric, and Martin Deschenes, vice-chair of Groupe Deschenes, will continue in their roles.

“I am grateful to our members, who took the time to participate in the first-ever member vote on the AD board of directors,” says Jeff Hockin, CEO of Crum Electric Supply and chair of the board’s nominating and governance committee. “This is a true milestone, reflecting the strong governance and transparency of the organization. All directors received over 97% approval.”

“The positive energy that has come from members becoming our owners has been tremendous,” says Bill Weisberg, chair and CEO of AD. “I was very pleased to see how seriously our members took the board nomination and voting process.”

Besides Nardini, Slominski, Deschenes and Weisberg, the board’s other directors include: Tim Arenberg, president and CEO of Columbia Pipe & Supply; Tim Horsman, president and CEO of Western Canada’s E.B. Horsman; Lenin Juarez, managing partner in Action Gypsum Supply; Tammy Miller, CEO of Border States; Jeff Pope, president of F.W. Webb; Russ Visner, co-chair of Etna Distributors; and John Wiborg, president of Stellar Industrial Supply.
