November 23, 2018 – Technical Safety BC’s president and CEO, Catherine Roome, has been honoured as one of Canada’s ‘top 100 most powerful women’ for 2018.

Roome is a professional engineer who has held leadership positions in the utility, energy and telecommunications industries. When she served BC Hydro as director of business development and general manager (GM) of thermal operations, her initiatives included leading investment in a green energy program. She joined the BC Safety Authority in 2005 and led it through its transformation into Technical Safety BC.

Launched in 2003, the top 100 awards are intended to pay tribute to outstanding women across the country, in the private, public and non-for-profit sectors, who advocate for diversity in the workforce and serve as an inspiration for the next generation of leaders.
