November 10, 2017 – Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario (ECAO) is welcoming a new executive director—Graeme Aitken—who will assume his position December 11, 2017.

For the past five and-a-half years, Graeme has been with EPTCON Ltd.—a Cambridge-based high-voltage EPC contractor—overseeing labour relations and contracts, ECAO reports.

During this time, Graeme also served on various Electrical Power Systems Construction Association (EPSCA) committees; the board of directors and as president of Electrical Contractors Association of Central Ontario (ECACO); ECAO’s Line and Provincial Line committees; ECAO’s board of directors; and as an alternate to the Electrical Trade Bargaining Agency (ETBA).

ECAO notes Graeme has a “unique blend” of education, including legal (LLB and LLM), apprenticeship training (309A journeyperson) and professional development.

“With over 30 years of experience in the unionized construction industry across Canada—and a particular focus in the Province of Ontario—we are confident that Graeme will provide the stewardship and professionalism we seek from our executive director,” said ECAO.
