PHOTOS from the ESTMP 2018 in Calgary

March 22, 2018 – Kudos to the organizing committee of the Electrical Safety, Technical, Maintenance & Projects Workshop (a.k.a. ESTMP) held last week in Calgary. This distinctively Canadian and uniquely Albertan event continues to impress me with its educational track, learned speakers, and loyal supporters and delegates.

I took pages and pages of notes during the technical sessions—only a fraction of which (sadly) will end up in my upcoming report—but the sessions I attended covered everything from the importance of sound engineering practices and variable frequency drives to transformer cooling and maintenance, hazardous locations and conductor ampacities.

Couple that with the tradeshow and hospitality suites… in short, there was a lot going on!

This photo gallery (SCROLL DOWN) contains shots from the technical presentations over several days, plus the exhibit hall. (Photos A. Capkun)

Special thanks to the Committee Members helped who make my visit all the more enjoyable: the “usual suspects” Tim D., Raed A., Ernie G., George M., Scott B. and Don W., plus new friends Shan P., Allen K., Ken M., Nicolas L., Jeff C., Amber M. (I hope I didn’t miss anyone).

Are you on Twitter? If so, follow my ESTMP friends @IEEEESTMP. Also, MARK your calendars now for the next ESTMP, scheduled for March 2020 in Edmonton. Stay tuned to EBMag for updates as they become available.
