April 28, 2017 – About 80 people passed through I-Gard‘s doors yesterday for its annual open house and complimentary technical seminar on electrical safety by design.

The session was offered to 48 attendees in the morning and another 30 took part in the afternoon. They all learned how to use CSA Z462 as a framework for electrical safety and more on the advances in HRG technology. The day also boasted a facility tour and product demonstration of I-Gard’s latest HRG product, which includes arc flash detection.

Ajit Bapat presented the afternoon segment, detailing the hierarchy of hazard control and the crucial componenets of elimination and substitution. He had the crowd laughing when going over the methods to quickly pinpoint ground faults, noting Sergio Panetta of I-Gard has said he can find a fault in under an hour, or he’ll buy everyone lunch.

“He has never had to buy lunch,” Bapat said with a chuckle.

I-Gard says it has been hosting its annual technical seminar for about three years.
