Platinum Tools to launch new RJ45 cable tester at InfoComm
By Peter Saunders
The device is designed to map multiple locations of RJ45 network cables, determine wire conditions and detect shorts, opens, miswires, reversals and split pairs. Its liquid crystal display (LCD) showcases wiremap sequences and identifies faults.
A built-in tone generator, with four different combinations, can be used with a tone probe to detect where a cable is routed and where it ends. A set of five mapping remotes is included for locating cables that terminate in wall jacks or patch panels.
“Every installer should have this on hand for installations, troubleshooting and maintenance calls,” says George Jang, product manager.
