June 4, 2019 – Eaton has introduced Power Defense moulded-case circuit breakers, which offer connectivity for Internet of Things (IoT) processes in buildings.

The electrical system components generate real-time data insights, including system visibility and predictive diagnostics, to help improve maintenance and power system protection for commercial construction, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and data centre applications. In the event of a circuit fault, they provide information about where and why the fault occurred, making it easier and faster to restore power.

The circuit breakers incorporate Eaton’s ArcFlash Reduction Maintenance System and Zone Selective Interlock (ZSI) technology, to help protect personnel and equipment. Further, when combined with Power Xpert Release electronic trip units, they can provide energy metering.

The Power Defense platform has been certified to meet CSA, UL and IEC standards, among others around the world.
