Tamper-resistant receptacles meet new safety requirements

November 21, 2018 | By Peter Saunders

November 21, 2018 – Leviton has achieved an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listing for its 250-V tamper-resistant power receptacles, which are designed to meet Canadian and U.S. safety requirements.

Locations where tamper-resistant receptacles can prove beneficial include elementary schools, pre-schools, dormitories, medical offices, waiting rooms, gymnasiums, skating rinks, auditoriums and business facilities. One common application is providing power to air-conditioning (a/c) units.

Leviton also offers weather-resistant versions to comply with requirements for damp and wet locations.

“We’re committed to providing safe solutions when new codes or requirements call for changes in buildings and homes,” says Tony Pulsonetti, a senior product manager in Leviton’s commercial and industrial business division.
