February 25, 2016 - HellermannTyton says it has a new design for its aerial support ties (TAS120). Often used in utility, construction and energy cable routing applications, these ties feature a built-in spacer (.75-in. thick by 1.33-in. wide) to separate cables from the support wire to prevent abrasion.
February 16, 2016 - Eaton has introduced its Bussmann series compact high-speed fuses, which the company claims use up to 48% less enclosure space than standard high-speed, round body fuses. This technology is designed to support the reduction in the overall size of next generation power conversion and energy storage equipment, Eaton says, including drives, uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), inverters and battery protection.
February 12, 2016 - Legrand has made additions to its Pass & Seymour industrial watertight product line: ground continuity monitoring, or GCM, products, which can be used in food and beverage processing plants, petrochemical production facilities, pulp and paper mills, water and wastewater facilities, warehouse and refrigeration facilities, in mining operations and places where temporary power is used.
February 11, 2016 - AFC Cable Systems and sister company Kaf-Tech have expanded their line of electrical metallic tubing (EMT), flexible metal (Flex) and Liquidtight fittings for the electrical distribution industry. More than 150 new fittings items have been added, the companies say, adding that the new offering is the first phase of a multi-phase fittings product extension, with more items expected later in 2016.
February 1, 2016 - LockedUp Monitored Security Inc. (LMS) says it is inviting electrical contractors, security system specifiers and installers in Canada to include its LMS wireless video alarm verification security system as part of their residential and commercial portfolio offerings. The LMS system is “easy for contractors to install, reducing installation challenges and long-term maintenance costs associated with traditional hard-wired and wireless systems”, LMS says.
January 29, 2016 - TiniFiber has announced it is officially unveiling its micro armour fiber at the BICSI Winter 2016 tradeshow in Orlando, Fla. next week. This product is the company’s “first official entry into the newly created micro armoured category”, TiniFiber says, and it features the patented stainless “steel tube” coiled protection around the inner jacket of the fiber optic cable.

January 20, 2016 - The Evolution series 10-in. poke-thru device, new from Legrand, offers eight individual gangs of communication, audio video and power capacity, and eliminates the need for junction boxes, Legrand says. Users can mix and match devices, ports and receptacles, the company adds, to configure each of the eight gangs to suit their individual requirements.

January 19, 2016 - One of Siemens’ latest product releases is the 600V meter centre, which was designed in Canada, Siemens says, using feedback from Canadian contractors. The Siemens team extended an invitation to electrical contractors across Canada who are experienced with 600V meter centres and hosted a workshop held at the Siemens Drummondville, Que. plant to review preliminary design/prototype and specific regional customer needs.
January 15, 2016 - Eaton says it has redesigned its largest and most popular B-Line series mounting bracket sets and they’re now available in the Canadian market. The newest BB2-16T and BB2-24T brackets feature a telescoping design which Eaton says allows for varying stud wall spacing.
