Prohm-tect’s electrically conductive paste maximizes fuel cell conductivity

February 6, 2014 | By Anthony Capkun

February 6, 2014 – Prohm-tect USA says it has developed a new silver conductive paste that increases the conductive efficiency of fuel cell conduits to 94% while decreasing heat in the electrical interface.

“We’ve packaged a syringe of silver paste in a kit format, so technicians can apply it in the field during installations,” explained engineer and inventor, John Ebbinghaus. This is Prohm-tect’s first product in use in the fuel cell industry, says the company, which manufactures and sells several varieties of electrically conductive paste to improve the conductivity of bolted, clamped, crimped and other types of connections, and protect them in corrosive environments. The pastes consist of minute, conductive metal particles suspended in a non-silicone oil, providing multiple pathways for electrical current in a connection.
