ProtecTherm from Flextherm saves pipes and de-ices roofs

January 13, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur

January 13, 2016 – As the cold weather settles in, Flextherm says it is expanding its heating offerings. The floor heating manufacturer is launching ProtecTherm self-regulating electric heating cables developed for roof and gutter de-icing and pipe freeze protection.

ProtecTherm cables can be installed on a roof, in a gutter and downspout to prevent roof damage and leaking caused by ice and snow by creating a path to evacuate water, Flextherm says. They can also be installed on metallic and non-metallic pipes running outside and in non-heated installations to prevent damage caused by frozen pipes.

The 120V and 240V ProtecTherm cables come preassembled in specific lengths ranging from 6 ft to 50 ft or are cut to length for specific needs.
