December 14, 2018 – Toronto-based contractor Quantum Electric recently helped restore a widowed mother’s “faith in humanity” by coming to her family’s aid before Christmas.

The company heard how Kevin Coutts of Ingersoll, Ont., fell into a coma after a five-car pileup on Oct. 25 and passed away on Nov. 6, leaving behind his wife, stay-at-home mother Amanda Lockman, and their two children, eight-year-old Mason and four-year-old Arielle.

With the family struggling to deal with the sudden tragedy and upheaval, Quantum took part in a citywide toy drive and then paid them a day-long visit on Dec. 2, bringing gifts for the children and grocery and gift cards for the mother and, using its own bucket trucks, decorating their home with holiday lights and decorations.

To help bring more attention to the family’s situation, Quantum created a video (viewable on this page) documenting their story and the special visit.

“We hope this video touches a few hearts and, most importantly, we hope to raise at least $10,000 for Amanda and her children after the turmoil they’ve been through,” says Julia Babic, business development co-ordinator for Electrical and Mechanical Alliance (EAMA), of which Quantum Alliance is part. “The support is greatly needed.”
