October 29, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

October 29, 2013 – Thanks to Health Canada for letting us know of a recall involving two Beldi light fixtures, where the fixture overheats at the mounting point and in the wires, which may cause a short circuit and cause the globes fall.

The fixtures consist of one or three lamps with a chrome finish and transparent glass, measuring 5.5 x 180 cm. In Canada, Beldi Inc. and Groupe BMR have received reports of five incidents and no reports of injuries. Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to these light fixtures.

About 188 light fixtures were sold in Canada between January 2013 and September 2013. They were manufactured in China and distributed in Canada by Groupe BMR of Boucherville, Que.

Call Beldi Inc. at (514) 276-2861 for more information. N.B. Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA), recalled products cannot be redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
