June 29, 2017 – Both Health Canada and the U.S. CPSC are reporting a recall involving Home Decorators Collection 3-light and 4-light Comotti vanity fixtures due to burn and laceration hazards.

The light shades can be overtightened, which can cause them to detach and fall, posing a laceration and burn hazard.

The fixtures have three or four chrome-coloured glass shades that contain clear acrylic ball strands surrounding a halogen light. The wallplate is made of reflective stainless steel.

As of June 29, 2017, Design Solutions International has received no reports of falling lamp shades in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, however, the company has received 108 reports of light shades falling, including one report of a laceration to the head that also involved a laceration and burn to the arm, and one report of a laceration to the leg.
