May 7, 2020 – Dewalt is recalling certain laser distance measurers because they may operate at a higher power level than their markings indicate, posing a risk of operator misuse and injury.
The affected laser distance measures—DW0165, DWO165s and DWO0330s—were manufactured in China between Week 19 of 2018 and Week 43 of 2019.
Only the models listed above that are labelled as Class 2 and have those specific date codes are affected.
Health Canada reports roughly 1116 units of the affected products were sold in Canada from May 2018 to July 2019. The agency has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Dewalt Industrial Tool Co. to obtain a relabelling kit.
For more information, consumers may call Dewalt at 800-847-9466 between 8 am and 5 pm (Eastern), Monday through Friday.
Remember: Canada’s Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
