RECALL: Fire hazard with Broan-NuTone L500 ventilation fans
June 1, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur
June 1, 2016 – Broan-NuTone has issued a recall involving its L500 series fans, designed to circulate air in and out of a home or building, as they can overheat and pose a fire hazard.
Broan-NuTone says about 200 units were sold in Canada at heating, plumbing and building supply retailers and online from February 2016 through March 2016 for about $240 US. The fans were sold in nine brands and have the model information printed on the specification label affixed to the blower assembly.
No injuries have been reported, according to the company, but consumers should immediately turn off and unplug the recalled fans and contact Broan at 800-637-1453 to receive a free replacement.
The products were manufactured in the U.S.
