May 3, 2019 – Model P03615 portable generators manufactured by Firman Power Equipment have been recalled due to the risk of a gas leak, which poses a potential hazard of toxicity and flammability.

The recall affects a black and yellow generator model (pictured) with the number displayed on a white nameplate on the top right side of the front surface, which also features the ‘Firman’ label. A small hole in the vapour vent line could leak, vent or drip gas from the carbon canister.

Approximately 93 of the affected units were sold exclusively by Costco Wholesale Canada between December 2018 and March 2019. As of April 24, Firman had received no reports of leaks within the country and not reports of injuries.

Customers should immediately stop using the product and return it to a Costco location for a full refund or to a Firman service centre for free inspection and repair. The Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or given away.
