April 15, 2019 – Honda Canada has recalled its EU2200i portable generator, as its manual fuel valve can leak gasoline, posing a fire and burn hazard.

The generator features a red front cover, black metal frame and the words ‘Honda’ and ‘EU2200i’ in white lettering on a black control panel. The serial number—in the range from EAMT-1102906 to EAMT-1242169—is located on the lower corner of one of the side panels (as indicated in photo).

As of Feb. 2, 2019, Honda had received one reported incident in Canada, but no reports of injuries or property damage. Approximately 7,776 units of the affected product were sold in Canada between October 2017 and December 2018.

Owners should immediately stop using the generator and contact an authorized Honda dealer to schedule free repairs. Honda is also directly contacting all known purchasers.
