February 9, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur

February 9, 2016 – IKEA has issued a recall for its “Hyby” and “Lock” ceiling lamps as they may detach and pose a fall and injury hazard to consumers.

Both lamps are round and white with glass shades. The Hyby is 37 cm in diameter and has article number 102.042.66 while the Lock is 25 cm in diameter and has article number 200.557.51.

Health Canada says it has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these products.

IKEA Canada and IKEA US have each received two reports of the Hyby and one Lock lamp falling or shattering, with no reported injuries.
