RECALL: OxGear safety work boot (66000) from TSC stores
February 5, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur
February 5, 2016 – Health Canada reports TSC stores are recalling safety boots made by Jiayi Shoes & Plastic Co. Ltd that are not certified and may pose a safety risk.
The recall involves tan leather 8-in. OxGear safety work boots, sizes 8-13, with model number 66000. The products can also be identified by the CSA file number 265396 on the tongue of the boots.
The work boot bears a tag with an unauthorized CSA marking. CSA Group says it conducted an independent investigation and determined that boots manufactured by Jiayi Shoes & Plastic Co. were not certified by CSA Group and do not meet the CSA standard.
Health Canada, CSA Group and TSC Stores have not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.
About 1130 units were sold in Canada, Health Canada says, between November 25, 2015 and January 8, 2016 at TSC stores.
The boots were manufactured in China.
