RECALL – Southwire 12/2 NMD90 75M Romex SIMpull (yellow)

May 27, 2022 – Health Canada advises of a recall involving Southwire’s 12/2 NMD90 75M Romex SIMpull cable (yellow) due to inaccurate labelling.

The recalled product contains a neutral wire that is 14-ga, contrary to the stamp on the wire identifying both the neutral and hot wires as 12-ga. As such, it may not perform as expected in 12-gauge applications i.e. impaired performance and/or non-compliance with relevant codes/standards.

The recall involves product that was sold by the spool. If purchased at The Home Depot, they were designated as article 108196.

Only cables with a time stamp between 12:41 and 18:02 are affected by this recall.

As of April 8, 2022, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
