May 27, 2022 – Health Canada advises of a recall involving the Thermosphere and Mastercraft ceiling-mounted 7500W/240V electric utility workshop/garage heater (Model EH-4604BY) with remote control and thermostat due to a fire hazard.

The units involved in this recall can overheat, posing a burn and fire hazard.

As of April 26, 2022, Canac and Canadian Tire have received 13 reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injuries.

All date codes ending in “2020” (from year 2020) are affected. They appear in MM/YYYY format on the rating label attached to the heaters.

Thermosphere units do not have a date code sticker on the packaging box.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return them to the place of purchase for an exchange or refund.
