The lack of child-resistant packaging could result in unintentional aspiration toxicity if ingested by a child and may lead to serious injuries, says Health Canada.

The recalled units include:
• WD-40 multi-use product with smart straw
226g, item number 01058, UPC 061536010581

331 g, item number 01043, UPC 061536010437

According to Health Canada, this recall does not apply to WD-40 aerosol products containing the can with the red cap and removable straw, as these products meet the requirements of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001.

As this time, neither Health Canada nor WD-40 Company (Canada) Ltd. has received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.

Consumers should immediately place the products in a safe place, locked up out of the reach of children, and contact WD-40 Company (Canada) Ltd. at 1-866-210-0538 or website to receive a free gift card by providing information from the product container.
