Recall involving Westinghouse WGen5300DFv and iGen4500DF portable generators, September 2020

September 28, 2020 – The U.S. CPSC announced a recall involving Westinghouse WGen5300DFv dual-fuel portable generators and Westinghouse iGen4500DF dual-fuel inverter portable generators with manufacture dates from October 2019 through December 2019.

These gennies run on either gasoline or propane.

The recalled units (approx. 7500) can leak fuel, posing a fire and burn hazard. MWE Investments has received 26 reports of fuel leaking from the fuel valve. No fires, injuries or property damage have been reported.

It is unknown how many, if any units, made their way into Canada.
