July 17, 2019 – Health Canada, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC) and Bodum jointly posted a recall today for stainless steel two- and four-slice toasters that can leak electric current when operating at the maximum normal temperature, posing a shock hazard to users.

Manufactured by EnTech Products, the toasters are embossed with the Bodum brand and display the stock keeping units (SKUs) 10709-16-4 for two-slice models and 11840-16 for four-slice models.

Approximately 1,480 of the affected products were sold in Canada and 2,400 in the U.S. between January 2018 and June 2019. As of July 9, 2019, Bodum had received eight reports of electrical shock, all within Canada, and no injuries.

Users should immediately stop using the recalled toasters and return them to the place of purchase or contact Bodum toll-free at (833) 722-6386 to receive a prepaid mailer for a full refund. Canada’s Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, resold or even given away.
