March 22, 2019 – Legrand North America has issued a recall for a 15-A 125-V white indoor duplex wall outlet that was sold exclusively at Lowe’s retail stores across Canada from February 2018 to January 2019.

The two-wire, non-grounded electrical receptacle is manufactured in Mexico, has not been approved to Canadian standards and may not be in safety compliance, though Legrand (as of Mar. 14, 2019) has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Approximately 240 of the products were sold in Canada. They can be identified on the back as model 4025W-CC20, with the Universal Product Code (UPC) 78500785748. They should immediately be disconnected from any electrical cords, no longer used and reported to Legrand for a full refund. Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, they are prohibited from being sold, redistributed or even given away.

Customers may contact Legrand by phone (800) 223-4185 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, or by email at tech.support@legrand.us.
