Reminder from CND Hydro: Call for a free electrical locate

April 10, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

April 9, 2013 – Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc. (CND Hydro) is urging its customers and contractors to contact Ontario One Call (800-400-2255) to request a Free electrical locate before they start digging around their properties.

“People don’t realize that there are electrical hazards lurking everywhere underground, and they should never assume they know the location or depth of a cable, wire or pipe.” said Ian Miles, CND president and CEO. “Electrical safety is our number one priority; we want our customers, contractors and employees to stay safe.”

Customers and contractors in the City of Cambridge and the Township of North Dumfries should contact Ontario One Call at least five working days before they start any type of digging project… making a garden, building a fence, planting a tree, installing a flag pole. More lead time may be needed in the busy spring season. The free service is available 24/7, 365 days a year.

“The underground locate service can help prevent costly repairs to underground cables and pipes but, most importantly, it could save a life,” said Miles.
