ReneSola expands North American operations into Canada

December 3, 2014 | By Anthony Capkun

December 3, 2014 – ReneSola Ltd.—a provider of solar photovoltaic (PV) products—has expanded its North American operations into Canada, opening a new office and warehouse facilities in Mississauga, Ont.

Canada’s PV market is mainly concentrated in Ontario, says ReneSola, because of the province’s feed-in tariff (FIT). Previous FIT programs required solar projects to be powered by ‘domestic content’ made in Ontario, but no longer. “We can provide enhanced solutions to optimize support for our Canadian customer base of distributors and installers,” said Kevin Chen, president of ReneSola Americas.

Ontario solar distributor EfstonSolar has signed a non-exclusive agreement with ReneSola Canada to become the latter’s first Canadian distribution partner. ReneSola Canada recently joined the Canadian Solar Industry Association (CanSIA) and is partnering with EfstonSolar at the upcoming Solar Canada exhibition in Toronto next week.
