SandC Electric and MacLean close cutouts agreement

April 24, 2010 | By Anthony Capkun

S&C Electric Co. and MacLean Power Systems have closed their agreement on polymer and porcelain cutouts; MacLean has acquired certain assets related to S&C’s polymer fuse cutout line and has been granted the exclusive rights to market and sell porcelain fuse cutouts in Canada and the States.

All open orders previously placed with S&C will now be filled by
MacLean, and all new Type XS cutout orders for the Canadian and U.S.
markets should be placed with MacLean.

The addition of fuse cutouts to MacLean’s product offering is in
response to customer requests, say the companies, to provide a more
complete market basket for distribution line construction.

For S&C, this agreement enables the company’s Canadian and American
teams to focus on developing new products, including those for the smart
grid.
