Scholarships for Energy Women and Aboriginals from OEN

May 16, 2016 | By Anthony Capkun

May 16, 2016 – At today’s Ontario Energy Network luncheon, EBMag learned OEN is offering two scholarships under the 2016 EFC Scholarship program, both valued at $3500.

OEN Aboriginal Energy Scholarship ($3500)
The OEN Aboriginal Energy Scholarship will be granted to an Ontario Aboriginal undergraduate university or college student who has successfully completed at least one year of study in the electrical trade, engineering, IT or business disciplines, and who has demonstrated a commitment to community service.

OEN Women in Energy Scholarship ($3500)
The OEN Women in Energy Scholarship will be granted to a female Ontario undergraduate university or college student in either an Engineering or Business program who has completed her first year of study with a minimum cumulative average of 80%, and has demonstrated a commitment to community service.

With both scholarships, OEN hopes the successful applicants “will explore career opportunities in the Ontario Energy sector”. (To our knowledge, this is OEN’s first time offering a scholarship.)
