The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) has announced that its Cable-Tec Expo 2011 website—http://expo.scte.org—is live, and that discounted pre-registrations are available for the “cable telecommunications industry’s engineering show of the year.”

This year’s show, “Where Problems and Problem Solvers Meet,” is set for
Nov. 15 to 17. New this year will be the Capacity Management Symposium, a
one-day pre-conference event on Nov. 14 that will address the
challenges that technicians, engineers and managers face in planning,
optimizing and running cable networks in the face of increasing
application and service bandwidth needs, said SCTE.

Both events will take place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga.

Terry M. Cordova, senior vice president and chief technology officer of
Suddenlink Communications, is the Expo 2011 program chairman.

According to event organizers, SCTE Cable-Tec Expo is “widely known” as
the venue that helps attendees at every level of the cable
telecommunications workforce learn how to reduce costs, deploy new
services and increase customer satisfaction. This year’s event will
build on previous expos by presenting “even more technical workshops,
additional renowned industry experts and the introduction of the IP
Challenge, highlighting expertise in IP networking and engineering.”

It will also feature hands-on, technology-centric exhibits, the
International Cable-Tec Games, and peer-to-peer interaction and
networking.
