Seatek Company announces rotary cutting RSK-185
August 19, 2011 | By Alyssa Dalton
August 19, 2011 – Seatek Company has launched a new model in its Roto-Skinner line–the patent pending rotary cutting RSK-185, which it claims was designed especially for armoured umbilical cables used on underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). The same tool can also have applications for cables subject to great stress, such as oceanography research or mining operations, it adds. According to the company, a specially designed pre-set concentric stop, coupled with the abrasive wheel penetrating mechanism allows the operator to safely reach the proper depth of cut stop thus preventing core damage. The cordless cutting tool is powered by 18V lithium-ion batteries.
