August 3, 2018 — Siemens Canada Women Leadership Community (WLC) recently hosted its 11th Women’s Leadership Fireside Chat at the headquarters in Oakville, Ont.

An employee-led Women Leadership Community with over 300 members organized the event. The group aims to provide inspiration, training, networking and mentorship access to its members.

Vanesh Okanlomo, Siemens Canada’s VP of finance and controlling energy management, and Carol McGlogan, Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) president and CEO, shared insights on personal branding, as well as lessons learned in career development and work-life balance. A Q&A session followed the presentations. The audience included a mix of men, women and students.

“Diversity and inclusion is a key EFC strategic initiative; members recognize the positive impact of diverse thought,” McGlogan said. “EFC will have a role to play in this area, but our members will ultimately be responsible for the change that is needed to make our industry and their companies more competitive.”
