Siemens introduces tiastar MCC with 18-pulse AC drive

October 31, 2014 – Siemens has introduced its tiastar motor control centre (MCC), featuring integrated 18-pulse adjustable frequency AC drive technology that claims to allow pumps and blower motors to operate with improved efficiency while keeping harmonic distortion at a minimum.

According to the company, the MCC provides an open design that allows for increased service life of process equipment, improved power quality and operating efficiency, and can process control flexibility to increase overall operational performance. The unit is compliant to IEEE 519 requirements.
