June 18, 2014 – SMA has added two new models to its Sunny Boy TL-US line of transformerless inverters with Secure Power Supply, designed for smaller, service-constrained systems and larger residential photovoltaic (PV) projects.

Like the rest of the line, the new Sunny Boy 3800TL-US and 6000TL-US include Secure Power Supply, a feature which claims help the inverter provide up to 1500W of daytime standby power in the event of a grid outage for charging laptops, cell phones and more, without the need of additional batteries. The 3800TL-US is specially configured for homes with 100A service panels, allowing solar installers to maximize system size and energy production without expensive service panel upgrades, says SMA, adding that the 6000TL-US offers dual maximum power point (MPP) trackers for projects with multiple roof orientations.
