April 15, 2013 – Solais Lighting Inc.—a manufacturer of LED fixtures and lamps—has been acquired by PowerSecure International Inc., a provider of utility and energy technologies to electric utilities and their industrial, commercial and institutional customers. The acquisition strengthens and complements PowerSecure’s existing LED business, says Solais.

“The expertise that James [James Leahy, Solais CEO] and the accomplished Solais leadership team have demonstrated in developing best-in-class innovative technology—in parallel with some of the most effective sourcing, procurement, and manufacturing in the industry—will provide us with catalysts to accelerate the growth and profitability of our LED lighting business,” said Sidney Hinton, PowerSecure CEO.

As part of the acquisition, Solais Lighting will continue to market under its existing brand name and sales channels to serve its retail, commercial, museum and hospitality end users.
