November 27, 2017 – The IDS-20 ice detection sensor is used for measuring icing in a number of applications, including wind power plants, high-voltage powerlines and overhead wires.

Additionally, the Sommer IDS-20 measures ambient air temperature and humidity, and outputs the current frost and dew point, as well as the air temperature-to-dew point spread. Available in cube and rod profiles, the sensor is suitable for existing and new systems, and promises easy installation, maintenance-free operation and low power consumption.
