August 28, 2018 | By Peter Saunders

August 28, 2018 — Southwire, a wire and cable producer for the North American electrical industry headquartered in Carrolton, Ga., has acquired Garvin Industries, which designs and manufactures electrical, lighting and low-voltage products in Franklin Park, Ill.

The acquisition includes Garvin’s manufacturing, distribution and corporate support functions and adds roughly 30 employees to Southwire as part of its tools and assembled products business unit.

“Garvin is the perfect addition to our business, with products that are used every day with our wire and cable products,” explains unit president Brandon Moss.

“The acquisition gives us a broader opportunity to provide custom solutions for our electrical customers,” adds Rick Stinson, Southwire’s president and CEO. “As a company, our goal is to grow by 50 per cent over the next five years.”
